7 Month Update

I cannot believe my little man is 7 months old already!!!

7 month highlights:

- He is pulling up on everything in sight.  He hasn't taken his first step yet, but he has let go of the ottoman a couple of times only to immediately fall.  Luckily, he usually falls backwards and lands on his bottom.
- He continues to LOVE music!  He will sit and listen or dance around in his bouncer to my iPod selection, and he never seems to get tired of it!
- Loves to look through books.  I think he just likes the pictures and colors, but I just love that he loves them already!
- He still says "mamama" all the time, but he hasn't moved on to other babble words.
- He didn't grow anymore teeth this month, so he still has only two.
- After a third trip to the ocean, I can now confirm that he hates it.  I don't know if it is just the rushing water or  what, but he does not like it.
- He loves taking a bath and going to the pool!
- H is eating puffs and a few select table foods mashed up (green beans, peas, etc.) and LOVES it.  He wants to eat whatever we eat.
- He has done well in the nursery at the new churches we have visited, and seems to get along with other babies.
- He is crawling everywhere!  I seriously can't leave him alone for a second without him crawling down the hall or under the kitchen table.  It's sort of cute because he is definitely adventurous!

While trying to take his pictures, he turns himself around and stands up...things are getting crazy around here!

Looking forward to month 8!

6 Month Update

Length: 27 and 1/2 inches
Weight: 18 and 1/2 pounds
On June 22nd, Sawyerman hit his 6th month of life.  I love this kid more than I know how to explain.  He brings such joy and fullness to our lives.  I honestly can't remember what I did with my time before him!

We moved to back to Alabama on June 13th so the following week was spent unpacking and visiting our friends and family.  We did, however, get a chance to celebrate his one half year landmark, and we look forward to all of the fun and craziness the rest of this year will bring us!

6th Month Highlights:
- Sawyer is crawling!  He hasn't got the complete hang of it yet, but he is getting better with his coordination.
- Still loves to stand, but not pulling himself up by himself yet.  However, he is tugging with all his might, so I know this is just around the corner.
- Babbling all the time!  His favorite thing to say is "mamamamama", which makes my heart smile!  I mean, I know that he doesn't know what he is saying or that mama is my name, but just hearing it makes me light up every time--seriously, every time.  I can't help myself!
- Loves the car and will take the BEST naps when we are driving.  This is a good thing with all the craziness and travel we have been doing over the past month.
- Started eating a multitude of fruits and veggies.  He loves most things that I have introduced him to with the exception of peaches and corn (two of my favorites!).
- So far, he has been great about going to other people and seems to be entertained pretty easily.
- Loves to observe others and his surroundings.
- Has had no real sicknesses.  No problems with his ears or otherwise (Thank you, Lord!).
- Has two teeth!!! They are both located on the bottom, so he looks like he has an underbite when he smiles, which is actually pretty cute!
- Absolutely loves being outside!  If he is fussy, a walk outside will completely change his outlook.
- Smiles all the time!  I love that he is such a happy baby!

A Few Updates.

The past month has been a complete and utter whirlwind in a lot of ways.  Don't get me wrong, we have enjoyed it so much, but it has been crazy.  We have been able to hang out with so many people that we haven't been able to see very much over the past couple of years, and we've also gotten to spend a lot of time with both of our families!  Below are a few picture highlights :)
Lake Martin with college friends :)

all of us :)

Celebrating Father's Day with the Meadows crew.  Four generations of Meadows men represented...do you see the resemblance?

McCulloch family beach trip to Seaside, Florida

Hanging out on the beach with my man :)

Dinner with PawPaw and Mimi in Selma.

Conner and Katie's going away party in Huntsville

Sunday afternoon Mario Cart with the boys in Moulton
Tomorrow morning we leave for Orange Beach.  I can't wait to be out in the sun and visit with Steven's parents.

In other news...A few people have asked me why we have been so MIA lately.  Well, we are currently renting a house in a little place called Catherine, AL (it is literally in the middle of nowhere).  We have no cell phone service and no internet (HugesNet even turned us down...I mean really).  For this reason, it has been really hard to post pictures, return phone calls, or update my blog unless I am in town (I am literally sitting in McDonald's as we speak  in order to update this). However, I have a feeling that this will soon change because we just got approved and our offer was accepted on a house in Thomasville!!!  We should be moving (Lord willing) in 30 days!!!

Uncle Michael's Music :)

Just a few quick pics from one of our nights spent in Seaside, Florida.  Sawyer is completely captivated by music, but seems especially drawn to Uncle Michael's guitar playing!

Michael ended the show with a little Freebird (as do all southerners, right?). Sawyer jammed out with him in his bouncer for over an hour.  I'm pretty sure he is going to be a musician one day!
