Celebrating America

Is there anything more American?
I love America!  Anyone who knows anything about me, knows this fact.  I love celebrating America's history, her obstacles, as well as her victories (I mean, Phelpsy and I did date for a while, right ;).   I was raised to love this great country that I was blessed to be born into as well as all of the people who have fought for it throughout the years.  I hope to share this love and respect with my son as he grows up.

This year, we celebrated Independence Day in Madison, Florida with Steven's MawMaw Sidney.  We spent the evening eating BBQ and watching the fireworks, which were really great, especially for such a small community.  It was so fun to watch the fireworks through Sawyer's eyes.  Every time one would go off, he would shout "Whoa!" and tell everyone the color of the firework.  It was so cute!

Fireworks time!

The rest of the weekend was spent at the Ashley/Meadows' Cherry Lake camp house.  When it wasn't raining, we spent time out in the boat skiing, wake boarding, and swimming (mostly riding, in my case).

I love the camp because, although it is really rustic, boasts a huge wrap-around, screened-in porch full of rocking chairs.  It is one of my favorite places to sit and relax.

We had such a great time celebrating America!  Can't wait until next year!

Saying Goodbye to an Auburn Tradition

This April, the huge oak trees at Toomer's Corner were rolled for the very last time.  Although this occasion was sad in so many ways, I was thrilled that Steven and I got to share this experience with Sawyer (his first and last...because let's be real, last season gave us very little opportunity to roll).

We met Betsy, Michael, Mrs. Shelia, and Mr. Jim at the A-Day game.  It started at 1:00, but we opted to come late because Sawyer has a limited attention span.

We made it through half of the third and fourth scrimmage before he had to go for a little walk...
Taking a walk around the stadium.  Y'all should have seen all the stroller babies present at the game!

The tradition continues.

My Auburn Sis :)

One Last Roll! War Eagle, Folks!
